The RV lifestyle, getting use to it

Location:  Yosemite National Park

Duration: 3 nights
Temperatures:  24, 23

What amazing looks Mother Nature gave this spectacular piece of land.  After a slow start connecting to the techno world and moving to Lower Pines we  went exploring.  Our first hike was the steep 4 mile round trip to Vernal Falls.  Being spring all the snow had been melting off the mountains creating the most spectacularly powerful water falls.  Ryan needed convincing to go to the top and we didn't regret digging it in for a few extra miles when we saw the views from up there.  That evening through lack of cork screw we met Stacey and Dillon a young couple from Ventura, CA.  They invited us over for s’mores later in the evening, having heard and already attempted to make our own s’mores in Napa that was all it took to entice us over.  If you haven’t heard of a s’more b’fore it’s a campfire toasted marshmallow  squidged between two graham (pronounced gram in an American accent) with a piece of Hershey's chocolate.  They are a traditional American campfire treat and very s’morish!

The following day we walked around the valley floor and admired lush green meadows, dramatic granite cliffs, serene mountain water streams, gushing waterfalls and soaring redwoods.  We sunbathed and napped and reconvened in the evening with Stacey and Dillon for cards, 7&7 (7 whiskey with 7up)then chatted with a few guys from Kentucky around a campfire .  We left early the next morning to visit Mariposa Grove home to some of the tallest trees in the world.  These beauties are huge and tell a tale or two having lived thousands of years with there forest fire scars.   It was on to our pit stop after this, half way between Yosemite and Monterey on the coast is Betbel RV Park, a typical trailer park style place but good enough for doing some laundry and checking the internet, emails.
